National Awards

Karivellur–Peralam Grama Panchayat has received several national awards during different periods in recognition of its outstanding performance in various sectors. The Nirmal Gram Puraskar, awarded for excellence in sanitation and cleanliness, was received from the Central Government in 2006 for its performance during 2004–05, along with a cash award of ₹5 lakh. Subsequently, in 2009, the Panchayat received the Bharatiya Rajiv Gandhi National Award from the Central Government for its performance during 2007–08. In recognition of its child-friendly initiatives and Panchayat-level activities for the welfare of children, the National Child-Friendly Award was received in 2019 and 2020. In addition, in recognition of the effective functioning of its Gram Sabhas, the Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar was also awarded to Karivellur–Peralam Grama Panchayat in 2020.
